The following nature video of Prothonotary Warblers was taken at Francis Beidler Forest, also known as Four Holes Swamp in South Carolina. All footage was shot off of the boardwalk at Francis Beidler Forest.
April and May are the best times for viewing Prothonotary Warblers at the Francis Beidler Forest in South Carolina. In April the males are zooming around staking and defending territory (buidling fake nests) while the females are busy building the real nest. Sometime in May (probably mid to late May) the activity changes to feeding the chicks, with both parents participating. These warblers add a spice of color to the swamps in the southeastern US.
