Nature video of Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge, VA. Snow Geese, Bobwhites, Bald Eagles, Wild Ponies, and Sika Elk. Chincoteague NWR, located on Assateague Island, is a great area to shoot sunrise and sunset video footage. During mid November, Chincoteague is a prime location for capturing Snow Geese in flight, along with various other migrating waterfowl.
From a video perspective the wind on Assateague Island is tough to deal with. Wind is easily picked up in the audio and it also causes camera shake when the camcorder is mounted on a tripod. Both problems must be dealt with to achieve quality footage. Regardless, Chincoteague offers accessible wildlife and I highly recommend a visit during mid November.
