This nature video of the Audubon Swamp Garden at Magnolia Plantation in Charleston SC contains footage of Wood Duck chicks, alligator hatchlings, camellias, Great Blue Heron chicks, Great Egrets, a marsh rabbit, and anhingas.
Late April is the time to go to the Swamp Garden at Magnolia Plantation, especially if you are interested in wildlife babies. Nesting Anhingas, Great Blue Herons, Great Egrets, and Snowy Egrets were readily observed at the rookery area. I am pretty sure Little Blue Herons were nesting also. I personally observed Great Egret chicks, Great Blue Heron chicks, Wood Duck chicks, and alligator hatchings.
In addition to the above, I also observed Green Herons, Prothonotary Warblers, marsh rabbits, and deer. Not bad for a brief 3 hour video visit. I will definitely be going back.
